Press Release
- September 18, 2008
The Humane Society of Pulaski County (HSPC) announces its latest fundraiser, Walk for the Animals
and HOWL-O-Ween Festival. The event will be held on October 18, beginning at 9am on the lawn of
the Clinton Presidential Center and Park, located at 1200 President Clinton Avenue.
Registration for Walk participants is $25 and includes an official t-shirt designed by
award-winning local artist Les Waite. Animal lovers with or without dogs are encouraged to come
out and enjoy a morning of entertainment and to walk in celebration of all four-legged friends in
need of homes. Virtual registration will be available for those who cannot attend but wish to
support the HSPC in honor or memory of a favorite pet or person. Teams are being formed by
businesses, groups, churches and organizations, and team kits are available online at
www.WarmHearts.org or by calling 501-580.2966.
Stage entertainment will be presented by Radio Disney and Master of Ceremonies Craig O'Neill,
featuring contests with awards such as Best Costume for pet and owner, Best Dog Trick,
Owner and Pet Look-a-Likes and Channel 11's Joey's Pet Photo Contest. Additional
media sponsorships are provided by the Arkansas Times.
HSPC volunteer Debbie Howell says, I'm so excited to be a part of Walk for the Animals, and
I hope it becomes an annual event that grows exponentially every year.
