Warm Hearts for Cold Noses

Events: Critter Camp 2008

What to do when school lets out in early June? One surefire activity is Critter Camp, hosted by the Humane Society of Pulaski County. This year, Critter Camp will be offered on these dates:
June 6Friday11 am - 3 pm
June 20Friday11 am - 3 pm
July 11Friday11 am - 3 pm
August 1Friday11 am - 3 pm
What is Critter Camp? It's a 4-hour humane education program held at the shelter for children ages 8 years and above. The children learn the basics of responsible pet care while interacting with the dogs and cats in our care. We have two big cageless cat rooms, and a nice big fenced dog park so this will truly be a hands-on experience. While the children are having fun with the animals (and vice versa!) they will be learning the basics of responsible pet ownership and how to be safe around animals. We will also have some fun crafts to do. There is no charge for the program, but we do ask for each child to bring a gift or treat (chewies, toys, etc). PLEASE--no dry food; we are on the Science Diet Shelter Program so that all of our guests receive nutritious food. Bring a lunch and we'll supply a cold drink. Book early as we filled up fast last year. Parents do not have to stay but are welcome to do so.
