Warm Hearts for Cold Noses

How To Help: 2009 Day Planner Letter of Information

Dear Humane Society Friend:

Thank you for your interest in the Humane Society of Pulaski County Day Planner. Our 2008 book netted over $70,000, bringing the combined total raised in four years to nearly a quarter of a million dollars! This success would not have been possible without the generosity and broad support from our community.

During this past year proceeds from the Day Planner have helped rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for almost two-thousand animals. A staff veterinarian has now been hired, and each animal has been vaccinated, wormed, sterilized, and given necessary medical treatment. With these funds the shelter will now be able to open a surgery room for on site spays and neuters. During the year over sixty horses were rescued, and an employee was hired to provide daily care for the horses at our medical care location. Our education programs have expanded, and Project Puppy Love is still very popular among area nursing homes. Because of great volunteers, administrative costs are less than five percent; the animals are the beneficiaries of our efforts.

As a Day Planner page sponsor, you will receive an invitation to the Preview Party which will be held in a lovely private home in late October. A Silent Auction will include a wide array of wonderful items. At that time you may pick up your complimentary book, and your photo will be returned. If unable to attend, you may have the book mailed for an additional $5.00 per copy. (See application form.)

The deadline for application, photo submissions, and preordering books is June 1. Last year we sold out of pages before the deadline, so we urge you to act now if you want to be included. We also urge you to take advantage of the special pre-publication price of $20.00 per book. They make wonderful gifts for family, friends, clients, and employees. Get your holiday shopping done early and help the animals at the same time.

We appreciate your support of our project!
