Next Sunday 1-5--more shelter renovation work. Help is welcome!
And---if anyone knows how to install sun filters on windows--we need someone to do it in our new
cat room. We have the filters, just don''t have the expertise to install them correctly.
This Friday, 2/9, we are doing a program at Acxiom, downtown. If you could possibly transport a few
kittens/cats and their supplies in time to have them there by 11, or pick them up and return them
to the shelter at 2, let me know. (You don't have to stay). Christine and Jack and Gene are going,
and others are welcome. If interested let me know.
We have a very sweet, pregnant dog at the shelter, who would love a foster home, so she can continue
her pregnancy and have her pups in peace and quiet. We will provide all supplies, and take her and
her puppies back when they are ready. She is on our website as "Sadie", and if you can help, let me
know. She is a sweet, friendly, gentle dog. No issues, just pregnant!
If you are interested in doing a Puppy Love visit, contact Amanda at acarter01@yahoo. com. She is
scheduling visits. There are regular visits scheduled for the second Saturday of each month at
Arkansas Health and Rehab, and she is scheduling others. Also, The first Saturday of each month,
Mary and Leigh make regular visits to Women and Children First, from 10-11, and third Saturdays at
Dorcas House, also 10-11. If you would like to go one one of these visits, let Mary know at
mmstephens@ashland.com
Our KROGER CARDS made us $457. last month, We can do better than that!! If you don’t have an HSPC
Kroger card, please get one. If you have one, don’t forget to use it, and if you don’t know about
them, let me know and I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter. The trick
is to remember to use them!!
Next Birthday party--first Sunday in March. Hayden is helping, need more help
Whiskers at the Mall, our off-site adoption center and store, needs someone to take over management
from Chris. Chris has done a fabulous job for several years, but has other demands on his time now.
Managing involves scheduling help and transports, keeping track of inventory, etc..
Also, we need a few more people available for transporting animals from the shelter to the store,
and back again., and to help at the store on Saturdays. If you are interested, let me know.
If you want more details, or want to help at the store next week, contact chris at: ellischris@uams.

If you are a FEDERAL EMPLOYEE, remember that HSPC is a Combined Federal Campaign agency, and please
consider making us your charity of choice. Also, we have our beautiful new brochures, so if you
have a place where charities can leave information (or want a speaker!), let me know, and will
provide them. OUR CORRECT NUMBER IS 9032
We can always use HELP AT THE SHELTER---walking dogs, taking them out to our dog park, brushing cats
, playing with cats, and helping potential adopters choose the perfect pet.
**If you no longer wish to receive these newsletters each week, let me know, and I will remove you
from the list. Also, they sometimes are marked “spam” because I send so many at once.
** Please encourage people you know to give a shelter animal a chance, or consider fostering an
animal for a while. We have had a lot of adoptions of animals in foster care.
Adoptions: Sarge (Goose); Chantilly, Tippy, Russell, and several puppies and kittens
New Volunteers: Sue and Ric Crane
**Next volunteer Orientation: Monday February 12, 6PM at the shelter.
