We need some volunteers for Whiskers at the Mall Saturday (12/23). Chris and the usual crew are not available, and we won't be able to be open on the busiest weekend of the year! Debbie Howell has offered to open, and be there to approve adoptions, but she will need help. If you are available 10-4, or part of that time frame, let me know. And if you can help transport animals either from the shelter to the mall, or back to the shelter, let me know, also. If we don't get a few volunteers by Wednesday, we will have to be closed.

ALSO, from Kay:
I know you probably have plans for Christmas but so do I, and we need help. I am down 4 employees right now and could use some help cleaning and feeding animals Christmas morning or afternoon...or both!!. We get here at 8:00AM...work for about 2 hours (when we have enough folks), then we go home and come back at 2:00PM and feed and clean again. . I have not asked on a holiday before but we have lots of critters this year. Also, Christmas eve will be extremely busy....anyone with some free time would be appreciated very much. The animals and I wish you a wonderful holiday.

The two tiny Beagle pups could still use a foster home for a week or two. They are precious; nice, quiet little puppies who eat from a dish; no bottle feeding required!.

Now through the end of the year, we are having a BIG DOG event. The adoption fee will be reduced to $60 for any dog over 6 months old, and/or over 35 pounds. In addition to our usual shots, spay/neuter, bag of Science Diet etc, we also will include a collar and leash.

If you are interested in doing a Puppy Love visit, contact Amanda at acarter01@yahoo.com. She has several lined up and would love some more volunteers. She is getting a schedule together for 2007.

Our KROGER CARDS made us $527 last month, which is up a little.. If you don't have an HSPC Kroger card, please get one. If you have one, don’t forget to use it, and if you don't know about them, let me know and I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter.

Our 2007 Day Planners are now on sale. Check our website for places to buy them, or for a mail-in order form. They are better than ever and make great holiday gifts.

If you are a FEDERAL EMPLOYEE, remember that HSPC is a Combined Federal Campaign agency, and please consider making us your charity of choice. Also, we have our beautiful new brochures, so if you have a place where charities can leave information (or want a speaker!), let me know, and will provide them. OUR CORRECT NUMBER IS 9032.

We can always use HELP AT THE SHELTER---walking dogs, taking them out to our dog park, brushing cats, playing with cats, and helping potential adopters choose the perfect pet.

** Please encourage people you know to give a shelter animal a chance, or consider fostering an animal for a while. We have had a lot of adoptions of animals in foster care.

Adoptions: Ni; Shemia;Carly; Tonya; Mickey; Izzy; Geri; Baxter and lots of puppies and kittens.

**Next volunteer Orientation: Monday January 8, 6PM at the shelter.

And check our website www.warmhearts.org. I add new animals every Sunday night.
