Sunday June 3--2pm-9Pm--Central Arknasas Gay and Lesbian Alliance is having an event at RiverMarket, and have offered us a booth to show animals and give out information on our shelter. I'll need to know how many to get ready.

July 8--Birthday Party

July 28-- There will be a Martial Arts Competition at Riverfest- We will get a large percentage of the refreshment income; we need to provide volunters to sell beer, or sell non-alcohol drinks. HSPC is now taking part in a recycling for cash program. Bring your old cell phones, toner cartridges and ink jet cartridges to the shelter or the mall store, and we turn them in for cash.

Don't forget June 1 is the deadline for DayPlanner page applications. Pictures can come a bit later, but pages must be reserved by June 1.

Our Kroger cards made $556 last month. Please remember to use them!!! You can purchase them at the shelter, and Whiskers at the Mall.(You can't buy them at Kroger!) If you don't know how they work, let me know and I will explain. It is a painless way to make money for HS.

We now have a wonderful Humane Ed program, so if your Library, Scout group, church, etc, would like us to provide a program, let me know, and I will put you in touch with Christine, who is running it for HSPC.. AND, we are setting up Humane Ed Days at the shelter one Friday each week during the summer. Christine has special materials and programs, and kids can come to the shelter for a few hours, play with animals in the park, and learn something about animal care, responsible pet ownership, etc. If you would like to help with this, please let me know. We will definitely need help with the kids and animals!

Thanks to all the new volunteers who have jumped in and are helping at the shelter . I see a lot of you taking dogs out to play. It's great to see them running around and splashing in the dog pools. And dogs are getting adopted more easily when people see them running around in the dog park--seeing them having fun insteadiof barking initheir cages makes them a lot more adoptable! Thanks to the folks who have been getting them out, and helping with adoptions.
