We still desperately need a foster or permanent home for Sabrina. She is on the website, if you want to see how cute she is! And we can also use foster homes for some really cute kittens; they have been weaned, but are not quite old enough for adoption. They eat soft food, and need a place to stay for about two weeks.

Bobbie Update: We had several offers of wonderful foster homes for Bobbie. Katherine came and got her, and found her a great permanent home the next day! Bobbie is safe and snug in her new home.We We would love to find a foster home for Sunny, a very pregnant Weimaraner. She is beautiful, and very, very friendly. The pups are due in about a week, and we will take them all back when they are old enough. They will all do so much better in a home.

And Rosie, a blind Rotti mix. She is sweet and smart, housebroken, and not very large. It would be great if she was in a home with someone who knew blind dogs, and no cats!!

Our Dog Wash made $1058. That qualifies as a Very Good Dog Wash. We washed a lot of dogs, but we had a great crew. Thanks to Gene, Gesina, Salina, Sarah, Melissa, Katherine, Margie, John, Michael and Michael from Episcopal, Boy Scout Grant and his dad Randall, Jerod, Hanna, Dustin, Keegan...I hope I didn't forget anyone. And big thanks to Janet Davis, who donated a Bath Booster, and that saved our backs!! We love it. Think abut helping at our next one, May 19. And thank you to all the folks who donated shampoo and other grooming equipment for Dog Wash. I don't know who you are, but we got what is probably enough for the season. We really appreciate it.

Thanks to the Dog Identification volunteers--Karen ,Susann, Phyllis, Cindy, Kyla, Jennifer, Kathi... and lots of others I don't know about...who helped identify, photograph, record, and provide an engraved name tag for each dog's collar. This was something that has been badly needed!

June 1st is the deadline to get your application form in.

Thanks to all the new volunteers who have jumped in and are helping at the shelter.

Encourage people you know to come down and adopt or foster animals for us. We have so many more than we have room for! And there are some really great dogs and cats there..

****Our KROGER CARDS made us $567 last month. If you don't have an HSPC Kroger card, please get one. If you have one, don't forget to use it, and if you don't know about them, let me know and I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter. The trick is to remember to use them!! Note--you can only purchase HSPC Kroger Gift Cards through us--at the shelter, the Mall store, or by mail. I just picked up 50 more

Whiskers at the Mall, our off-site adoption center and store, always needs help. Contact Chris at: ellischris@uams.edu .

We can always use HELP AT THE SHELTER---walking dogs, taking them out to our dog park, brushing cats, playing with cats, and helping potential adopters choose the perfect pet.

**If you no longer wish to receive these newsletters each week, let me know, and I will remove you from the list Also, they sometimes are marked "spam" because I send so many at once.

Adoptions: Tanya; Higgins; Mr Weenie (he's getting a name change!); Philip; Oscar; Moose; and lots and lots of puppies and kittens. We had 19 adoptions over the weekend!

And check our website. I add new cats and dogs (and sometimes horses) every Sunday night!

**Next volunteer Orientation: Monday May 7, 6PM at the shelter.
