We still desperately need a foster or permanent home for Sabrina. She is on the website,
if you want to see how cute she is! And we can also use foster homes for some really cute kittens; they have been weaned, but are not quite old enough for adoption. They eat sot food, and need a place to stay for about two weeks.
And I'd love to find a foster (or permanent) home for Bobbie. Bobbie's owner could no longer take
care of her, and she came back to us. Bobbie is a very shy, sensitive dog, and she is terrified.
She hasn't eaten, or "used the restroom" in days; she just sits in her cage and looks sad, and
shakes. Bobbie is a little dog, housebroken, etc. She is on the website, if you want to see how
pretty and sweet she is. She needs someone to comfort her and make her feel safe. She likes to be
held.
Delta Dog Dayz was a lot of fun; We made almost $900, and dogs enjoyed the day out.
Our Daisy Van was first runner-up for Best Costume contest, in her Razorbacks outfit
(see it on the website, under "shelter dogs", Daisy) and also "Judges Choice" for the best
all-around dog. We are so proud of our Daisy and her escort (and costume consultant), Dawn.
Daisy has her certificates on her door, and won some nice toys and treats.
Thanks to all the volunteers who brought dogs--Pat W; Pat L; Kyla and Tony, Brad and Jennifer,
Stephanie, Denise, Gene, Dawn, Susann, Karen...I hope I didn't forget anyone. I know there were
lots of us out there .
Saturday May 5---this week!!!! will be our first Dog Wash of the season, at Trinity! We can use
donations of flea shampoo. Thanks, Kathi, who brought some...but we'll need lots more.
We need set-up help at 8:30, and take-down at 2, and generally have used 9-noon and
noon to 2PM shifts, with some all-day folks too. If you can help, let me know, and which shift.
We need a lot of people. Gene will be there in the morning, and Sarah K; we need lots more.
The first Wash of the season is usually crowded. Lets hope the good weather holds!

Encourage people you know to come down and adopt or foster animals for us. We have so many more
than we have room for! And there are some really great dogs and cats there..
****Our KROGER CARDS made us $567 last month. If you don't have an HSPC Kroger card, please
get one. If you have one, don't forget to use it, and if you don't know about them, let me know
and I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter. The trick is to remember to
use them!! Note--you can only purchase HSPC Kroger Gift Cards through us--at the shelter, the Mall
store, or by mail. I just picked up 50 more today
Whiskers at the Mall, our off-site adoption center and store, always needs help. Contact
Chris at: ellischris@uams.edu .
We can always use HELP AT THE SHELTER---walking dogs, taking them out to our dog park,
brushing cats, playing with cats, and helping potential adopters choose the perfect pet.
