We still desperately need a foster or permanent home for Sabrina. She is on the website, if you want to see how cute she is!

Saturday April 28--9AM -12-Delta Dog Dayz, at Delta Trust in the Heights. Delta is sponsoring this event for us, all proceeds come to us. There will be a Mutt Strutt, dog contests, dogs in costumes, etc. We have done this before, and it is always great fun. Of course, we want to have some adoptables there...we almost always get a few dogs adopted at Dog Dayz!! So if you want to escort a dog, let me know...or bring your own dog, and enter it in some of the contests. The flyer is on the website (finally!). We need some dog escorts!!! It is only from 9-2, and it is fun!! We have an opportunity to walk our dogs on stage and a bio of the dog will be read. It is a chance for some adoptables to be shown off! Please consider taking one. Let me know, and if you have a preferred dog, so we will have a bio ready. So far, only Denise has offered to take a dog. Stephaniehas agreed to be a contest judge, and John and I will be there to set up and help.

Saturday May 5 will be our first Dog Wash of the season, at Trinity! We can use donations of flea shampoo. I donate the "regular" shampoo, which I get at Sally Beauty Supply, in gallon jugs. If we get the flea shampoo donated, then every penny from Dog Wash will go to our animals, and it was over $10,000 last year! Think about helping at the event. We need set-up help at 8:30, and take-down at 2,, and generally have used 9-noon and noon to 2PM shifts, with some all-day folks too. If you can help, let me know, and which shift. We need a lot of people. Dog Washes are a lot of fun, and make a lot of money. Come prepared to work hard, and dress to get wet!! The schedules are on the website, downloadable. Please print some and help get the word out that we will be washing dogs all summer, as usual! And if you bring flea shampoo to the shelter, make sure they know it is for dog washes!

***If you are interested in helping with the 2008 Dayplanner, but could not make the meeting, let me know, and I will put you in touch with the committee chairmen. Or contact Suzanne Hamilton 2008 Chairman

suzham@aristotle. 225-1959 and she will tell you all about it.

And if you want to buy a page, the forms are on on the website.

Thanks to all the new volunteers who have jumped in and are helping at the shelter.

***Puppy Love schedule for April: Amanda has a call in to Parkview to schedule a visit on Sat., April 28th and she will let you will let you know when she hears back from that facility. Encourage people you know to come down and adopt or foster animals for us. We have so many more than we have room for! But how can we turn away an abandoned pregnant dog, or a skinny stray kitty

We have a party scheduled for April 29. Hayden said she would help

****Our KROGER CARDS made us $567 last month. If you don't have an HSPC Kroger card, please get one. If you have one, don't forget to use it, and if you don't know about them, let me know and I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter. The trick is to remember to use them!! Note--you can only purchase HSPC Kroger Gift Cards through us--at the shelter, the Mall store, or by mail.

Whiskers at the Mall, our off-site adoption center and store, always needs help. Contact Chris at: ellischris@uams. edu.

We can always use HELP AT THE SHELTER---walking dogs, taking them out to our dog park, brushing cats, playing with cats, and helping potential adopters choose the perfect pet.

**If you no longer wish to receive these newsletters each week, let me know, and I will remove you from the list Also, they sometimes are marked "spam" because I send so many at once.

Adoptions: Leah and Autumn (together), Darren,(!!), Gabbie, Niles, Neal, Cooper, and lots of puppies and kittens.

And check our website. I add new cats and dogs (and sometimes horses) every Sunday night!
