Saturday November 17--Day for the Animals..we don't have results in, but we truly appreciate all
the merchants who participated, and all the folks who went out and patronized them. And special
thanks to volunteer Debra Wood, and to Rep. Kathy Webb, who organized and made it happen.
We had a good crowd at Mission Market at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church today...we even
had an adoption!
Our 2008 DayPlanners are now available! Check the website for location, These are really great
this year, and as always, make wonderful holiday gifts. We just added more locations where it is
available
December 1--Downtown Holiday Parade
Lorrie Welsh is heading up a group of volunteers, and we are going to have a fabulous float!
The parade is 12/1, and if you want to help, let me know and I will put you in touch.
It's CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) time again! If you work for a federal agency, or know
someone who does, please consider making HSPC the charity of choice. Our number is 53272. And
if your agency would like us to do a presentation, Christine has already taken Abner the Basset
mix to a few places, and getting us lots of donations (we hope!)! She would be happy to make more
visits. Last year, we were pledged $22,000, more than any other agency in the area. This year,
we really are depending on donation such as this to meet our expenses.
Our Kroger cards made $611 for September. Please remember to use them. You can only purchase them
at the shelter (or by mail); You can't buy them at Kroger , and using them does not negate your
Kroger Discount card, you can use both. If you don't know how they work, let me know and I will
explain this painless way to make money for the shelter.
Volunteers: Think about taking dogs out to our wonderful dog park to play. They love it! And
please pick up after your dog..there are poop bags and buckets to put them in...and please
remember to put your dog back, or ask for help.
