Sydney Marie, our beautiful Australian Shepherd, (who is deaf and
partially blind) has been adopted by two wonderful women in Kansas.
They became interested after seeing Sydney's story on a carefully
selected Aussie Rescue website. She is now living happily with them and
their two other dogs, a Cocker Spaniel (Harley) and another Aussie
(Peyton), who looks just like Sydney. Peyton is also deaf, and knows
sign language.
The women, Paula and Linda, came to meet Sydney at Debbie Love's house,
where Sydney had been living, and they fell for her immediately. At the
end of the evening, after they left to return to their hotel for the
night, Syd threw a tantrum and barked at the door because her new
friends left her! She was ready to take her favorite toys and go with them
when they came back for her the next morning.
She has fit in well at her new home, loves her new family--humans and
dogs--and has been to the groomer, the vet, the eye doctor and the park.
She makes new friends wherever she goes. She does admit to missing
Debbie just a little bit, and definitely appreciates all the love and
care she got while waiting for her "perfect home".
Paula has ordered
Sydney an Arkansas Razorback dog collar to remind her of Arkansas.
A happy ending---or a happy beginning --- once again proving that there
is a wonderful home for every animal--some just take a little longer to
find. This one was worth the wait!
