TODAY'S FOSTER NEEDS
HSPC has an urgent need for foster families. We are so overcrowded, we are going to have to turn away animals, and that hurts. There is an immediate need for a temporary home for a beautiful cream-colored dog and her puppies. She appears to be a lab/shepherd mix (but who knows?), about 45-50 pounds. She has beautiful amber eyes, soft fur, and a verysweet disposition. She has five black and brownpuppies, recently born,to whom she is wonderfully devoted. She comes with a huge kennel,(donated per Debbie's plea on Channel 7)in which they all can stay very comfortably, as long as Mama can get out for a stretch now and then. She was "dumped" at HS, probably because of the puppies. She is gentle and friendly, does not appear to have been otherwise mistreated.
If you have a space for them, they should be very little trouble. It could be outside in a protected place. We would really like to get them out of HS, both for health reasons (we have a lot of sick puppies), and because there is no space. They are presently in an office along with several other cages of animals.
Also, a similar situation for a beautiful all- gray cat and her five kittens-two black, one orange, two calicos. All they need is a quiet spot--a laundry room, a closet--
HSPC will provide all shots, meds, etc, (and will help with food if that is a problem), and will take them all back when they are ready for adoption.
SO many people have responded to our earlier (and constant) pleas for foster care that I truly believe we have saved the lives of a huge number of animals! I am so proud of our HS volunteers and foster-folks who have done this this year. We just need a few more--surely puppy and kitten season should start tapering off!
Please let me know if you, or anyone you know, could provide space for these little families.
