Dog Wash Saturday the 19th at Kroger. John and I will be there to set it up, but have to leave
early. We need someone to supervise, take the equipment, and possibly keep it for a week until we
get home from our trip, about a week later.
...And I forgot to mention Kimber, who helped last week!
The puppy mill dogs are resting comfortably at the shelter. They all need medical care and time to
recover from anemia, mange, heartworms and infections. They won't be ready for adoption or
fostering for at least a month. We have received some very nice donations, but can still use: small dog beds (cat beds would work); receiving blankets; preemie/newborn baby clothes; baby wash cloths, sheets, towels, xsmall and small shirts (not sweaters or coats); Neutracal; baby food..meat, 2nd stage; steroidal eye cream; Science Diet or any good brand of small bite dog food
Pedialyte, unflavored Oatmeal or itch-relief shampoo; flea and tick shampoo
August 2nd, we need about 15 volunteers to sell beer and liquor at the kickboxing event. Roli
Delgado, volunteer Mary Stephens' son, is running this event, and will give 25% of drink sales to
HSPC for helping. We did this last year, and made over $2000; this year should be even more,as
there are more drink stands. If you can help, please let me know. Volunteers need to be there
around 5:30 to set up, and the event lasts until 10:30. And, if you are interested in this sport,
it should be a good show. This is what he sent:

Volunteers remember, please, to pick up poop in the Dog Park when you have dogs out. And no more
than three dogs at a time, per volunteer.AND. ..instead of taking a few favorites out for a long
time, consider taking several different ones for 15 minutes at a time. That way many more can get
some exercise and fun. In the hot weather, they won't even mind a shorter play period! And there
are some dogs who are starting to spin in their cages out of boredom and excess energy. Please
consider taking these dogs out and letting them get some extra exercise...among them are Howie;
Graham; Blue; Ronnie; Woody; Jolly; Happy Jack; and Honeymist,
**If you would like to learn a new skill and help our dogs get adopted, sign up for our

trainers have a lot of fun; contact Phyllis if you would like to be part of it! Next class will
start on July 19th at 10AM

Remember to use your Kroger Card! They don't help us if you don't use them! If you don't have one,
we just got more at the shelter. If you don't know how they work, let me know and I will explain
this painless way to make money for the shelter. We made $554 for May, which is the lowest in a
long time, in spite of selling lots of cards.
