Need foster homes for Mother Cats and Kittens

We have three cats about to have kittens that need foster homes so that they can care for their little families in a safe, quiet spot. We will take them all back when they are ready for adoption, and provide supplies while they are with you.

Mama cats generally do all the work--you need to provide a safe indoor spot, and food, water and a litter box for Mom. If yo are interested in helping with this, call Kay at the shelter--227-6166, and also let me know if you are taking one.

Our Saturday dog wash was a bit of a bust!! It rained off and on, and folks weren't sure we'd be there. We had lots of volunteers, and we stuck it out, but we had only a few very faithful customers.

Mama Cat Needs a Foster Home

HSPC just took in a sweet, grey and white kitty named Isabelle. She is in labor!

We would like to have a nice place for her to care for her family for a few weeks, once they are here. If you can provide a foster home for them, please let me know. They should be ready by Sunday. Cat families are pretty easy to foster--mama and kitties stay together in a box or cat bed, and mama does all the work. You just need to provide her with food, water, and a clean litter box. And a quiet, safe indoor spot. We will take them all back once they are adoptable, about 6 weeks, and will provide meds, supplies, etc.

I hear Isabelle doesn't much like other cats. So she needs either a catless home, or a private space.

If this is something you can do, let me know.

These animals desperately need homes - some permanent, some foster. Can you help?

We got such a great response to the two homeless dogs; both have found homes, and several back-ups. So let's see what we can do for this girl! And lets not forget all the wonderful dogs at the HSPC shelter.

This letter was forwarded to me from a volunteer. Let me know if she gets a home.

1. Need a home for LOLA, a shephard-collie mix. I found her Monday. No collar, and has ticks. Took her to the vet, got all her shots and found that she's negative for worms and heart worms. She is really beautiful. The vet says she's about 1 year old and weights 44 pounds. She is one of the most laid back one year olds I've ever seen. She knows simple commands and is house broken. I have 3 other dogs and she gets along fine with them. In fact, I would keep her but my 110 lb Bordeaux is totally "smitten" with her if you get my drift! I know my dogs and Lola is a winner! Please helpl! You can reach me at 223-5813 during the day and 228-5550 in the evenings. Thanks! Jo

2. "Zuzu" - a female Weimaraner mix, heartworm free, spayed, probably 4 - 5 years old. She is a very striking dog - looks Weimaraner except she is a dark charcoal gray. She had heartworms and her owner refused to treat her, left her at the vet and will not come get her - says he no longer wants her. Dr. Beam has treated her for the heartworms and she is heartworm free at this time. He wants to find her a good home. She is beautiful, quite friendly (maybe a little on the timid side), semi-housebroken, and seems very intelligent. If anyone would be interested in this dog, please call Parkway Animal Hospital at 225-2617 and ask to meet "Zuzu".

3. Yellow Lab Puppy - Approximately 7 months old, he is a happy good natured and playful dog which is currently residing at the Cabot animal shelter and will be available for adoption beginning on the 1st of July, if he is not adopted he will be put down Monday the 7th of July. Please help us find him a home. For further information you may call 501-843-2021 ***I have a photo of him for anyone interested. Let me know if you are interested in providing a home for either of these wonderful dogs.

4. Manx Kittens - We need a short-term home for five 6wk old Manx-mix tailless kitties. These were born to a barn cat, and are not well- socialized. They are not totally wild, but are not immediately cuddly. They need a home for about two weeks, until they are of an adoptable age and disposition. They have been handled some, and eat from a dish. They will be happy to use a litter box. One person need not take them all.

5. German Shepherd - We need a temporary home for the Shepherd at Briarwood. Can anybody help with her? Gentle, housebroken, etc. I think this girl was a stray. Can anyone help? The shepherd is black and tan, female, about 2-3 years old. She has shown no aggression at anything, they have been walking her with other dogs. She is heartworm positive..but very sweet. She is up on all of her shots too. She is at Briarwood and the number is 227-7900 and ask for Lori, but please let me know, also.

6. Beautiful Lost Declawed Cat - Please help me find a home for this beautiful little lady. She weighs about 8 pounds and is quite small, but will fatten up a bit when she finds a new home. She has a very seductive, deep, gravelly voice not unlike a feline Marlena Dietrich and is very loving and friendly. She tries to come in the house every time I open the back door. Surprisingly, she is declawed and most likely spayed so you will automatically save about $200 - $250. All she will need are her shots and a checkup with your vet. With no front claws, it difficult for her as an outside cat, so please contact me if you have a place in your home for "Scarlet" or pass this email on to others who may be looking for the perfect indoor cat. You can contact me by email or call at 501-666-2671.

Thank you for considering it..
