Tuesday night, January 14 5:30 until 9 -- have dinner at Elizabeth's on Crestwood - ( in North Little Rock ) -and 35% of the tab will go to HSPC if you tell them you care about the animals. Elizabeth's is a great restaurant, and I hear they have many interesting choices for those of us that are vegetarians.

We continue to place the little terriers rescued from the puppy mill; many of the families have already sent in proof of sterilization. We know life is better for these little guys.

Volunteer Needs:
We need more people for Puppy Love. When there is enough interest, Nancy Harm will hold a training session, and make up a new schedule.

Warm Hearts and Whiskers, our store at the Mall, always needs help. We have a few regulars, and that helps a lot, but we can still use a few more.

Disaster Relief Planning Task Force - January 25. See Separate email to follow.

Our IT group, (the computer folks) should be busy pretty soon, Our equipment is due in any day, and we will need help with staff training, data entry, etc. I know lots of folks were interested in this; it just took a long time to select equipment, get funding, etc. But the equipment has been ordered, and we'll be meeting again very soon to get it (finally) started. Let me know if you are still interested

The Humane Ed program is going to get started again. This involves presenting programs to school groups, and groups that visit the shelter. It usually happens during the week. I know a few volunteers have offered to be part of this program. If you are interested, let me know ; we'll be organizing very soon

We will be painting the shelter, starting Monday, 1/20. If you can help prep and paint we be be most appreciative. We would also like to know if anyone has carpentry skills, for some work that will be starting shortly.

And we really need to build up our Petsmart program again. It is once a month -- I'm trying to get the schedule from PS for the year. I'd like to have a team that can be counted on -- if we have about seven people, we can hope that five can make it on any given PS date. If we have less than five, it looks like we're just folks shopping at PetSmart! I'll post the schedule as soon as I can get it from the manager.

Recent Adoptions, and Foster - to adopts: 46 terriers rescued from the puppy mill, Abner, Sascha, Bruno, Donnie, Andorra, Lilac, Milton, (3 yr res) RT, (3 yr res), Big Red, Alice, Faith, Cantrell, Alley Cat, Hilda, Ivey, Mischa, Seth,(3yr res) Moses, Dillon (6yr resident) , of course Sydney, the blind and deaf Aussie, and Licorice, (now Sam) the blind, neurologically impaired puppy, and many, many more. So many long - termers went home to wonderful lives, it confirms our belief that there is indeed a home out there for everyone -- just takes some a little longer to find it!!
