NEWS AND EVENTS
HSPC Week 7/6/04
Our Saturday
dog wash suffered from bad weather, and a holiday weekend. We still made $405. Thanks to Billye and Stoney, Margie, Justin and Jessica, and Lauren.
Volunteers needed - A group will be
visiting HSPC Wednesday at 1PM; we could use some volunteers to make their visit funtake out puppies, etc.
Saturday, July 10- Whiskers at the Mall. If you can help at the Mall store and adoption center, contact Chris at: ellischris@uams.edu
Saturday July 10-- Pet photo shoot at Whiskers. Kids, pets, etc. Tell everyone you know! Great pictures, great prices.
Saturday July 10--NLR Dog Wash First United Methodist Church 6501 JFK. 9-2. If you can help, contact Richard at: richard.a.morgan@alltel.com.
Starting July 5, Pizza Hut will again donate 20% of sales on Monday 5-8PM to HSPC. Think of Monday as Pizza Night! This is any Pizza Hut in Pulaski County, and includes delivery!
Our 2005 Dayplanner has had an overwhelming response. Thanks to everyone who bought/sold a page. Can't wait for the books to come out--the pictures people sent are WONDERFUL! October 7 is the kick-off date with a great party at a local horse farm. Advance orders for books are $15; they will be $18 after they come out in October. They will make great, useful gifts.
The shelter could also use donations of the following: tools; a weed eater, and a vehiclean SUV, pickup or van. This could be a nice tax deduction for someone, and a huge help to the shelter. We could also use occasional help mowing (we have a mower) and weeding the landscaped area.
We have
more Kroger Cards, if you know someone who wants one. Remind everyone to use them!! They don't help us if they aren't used! We got our first check, for $600. We should be getting more in the future, as more cards have been sold, and more folks know how to use them. You can reload them at the check-out line. You do not have to go to the front desk after the first time. So if your bill comes to more than the balance on the card, you can load it right there in line, with cash, credit card or check. It took about 3 seconds when we did it!
