Our Saturday Dog Wash made almost $1000, and our part of the yard sale made $40. Thanks to Billye, Stoney, Monica, Gene, Justin, Amanda, Mary, Leigh, and John.
The Indian Dance Recital was wonderful. We had a great turn-out, and the performance was amazing. We raised approximately $2300 to be split with the animal refuge in India. Gene and Toby helped at the event, and Gloria was one of the organizers.
Saturday, June 12 -Whiskers at the Mall. Our store and adoption center at University Mall will be open 10-4. If you want to help, contact Chris at ellischris@uams.edu.
Also Saturday, June 12 North Little Rock Dog Was, 6501 JFK. Contact Richard at : Richard.a.morgan@alltel.com, and let me know, too.
Jennifer, John, Robin and Melissa are taking dogs to the
Travelers game Wednesday. The dogs get to meet folks at the game, and run across the field between innings, while the announcer reads their bios.
The Science Fiction Convention Rok-Kon has chosen HSPC as their charity of the year. And they have invited us to set up a booth, with merchandise, and adoptables. This is at the State House Convention Center June 11, 12, 13. We need a few people each day. This should be a fun event, especially for Sc-Fi fans. This might be something your kids would want to do with you. Gene is going Friday, but could use help; we need folks for Saturday and Sunday.
Tuesday June 15Ann is doing a program at the Terry Library in West LR at 2PM, and she really could use help. We can take some puppies and kittens, and some educational material. There will be about 60 nine year olds. There will be two more Library programs later this summer. This is a part of our Humane Ed program, and very important to us.
Tuesday June 22 a group of kids from Pulaski Heights UMC will be visiting the shelter from 10-1. We need a few volunteers to supervise, and see that they have an enjoyable time.
Wednesday June 23Underground Pub 6PM until closing. Admission of $5, a percentage of sales, and proceeds from various promotions go to HSPC. Good music, food, drinks available. Bring your friends down to have fun and help HSPC!!! We made a lot of money at this last year, and a lot of HSPC folks got together and had a great evening! Lets do even better this year!
Reigning Cats and DogsRescheduled for October 16. Let me know if you want to help--either at the event, or soliciting auction items and/or sponsorships. Several folks have signed up to help already, and we appreciate knowing we can count on them.
We can still sell pages in our
2005 Dayplanner. If you would like a page honoring your pet, or would like a business card listing, or an honoraria or memorial, let me know and I will get the forms to you. Or you can check our website, and click on 2005 Dayplanner.
Rescued Horses - You probably have heard that Kay Jordan rescued four horses2 mares and 2 coltsfrom a very bad situation. She has them in foster care, but could really use donations of hay and feed. You can charge feed at the feed store for them. Either call the shelter-227-6166 if you want to help, or let me know if you have something that needs to be picked up and delivered, as someone has volunteered to do that. A court case is pending on these horses.
The shelter could also use donations of the following: tools; a weed eater, and a vehiclean SUV, pickup or van. This could be a nice tax deduction for someone, and a huge help to the shelter.

We still have some
Kroger cards to sell--and we want to order more. If you know anyone who wants one, let me know. And remind everyone to use them!! They don't help us if they aren't used! We should be getting our first check soon.

Don't forget our
Puppy Love program; lots of places would love to have us visit. If you are interested in getting started, contact Patty Jorwall at: pjorwall@swbell.net
