NEWS AND EVENTS
HSPC Week 8/2/04
Saturday, August 7 - Whiskers at the Mall. If you can help at the Mall store and adoption center, contact Chris at: ellischris@uams.edu
Saturday August 7 Dog Wash at Trinity. We need help. Last dog wash didnt have enough volunteers, and we were exhausted! Billye and Stoney have signed on, and maybe Jan. But the more we have the better!
Friday August 6 I am trying to help with a transport of a dog and 2 puppies to the northeast. They need a ride from LR to Brinkley (or further; Memphis would be great). If you can help, let me know and I will send you the details. These are not HSPC dogs, (they are at LRAS), and we are trying to help get them to their new homes.
Friday August 13 Dog Escort needed for Travelers Game
Sunday August 15 Birthday Party at the shelter. Need help supervising the kids.
Our Puppy Love program, (taking puppies to visit folks in nursing homes, shelters, etc) needs more volunteers. Please contact Patty at pjorwall@swbell.net for more information.
Starting July 5, Pizza Hut will again donate 20% of sales on Monday 5-8PM to HSPC. Think of Monday as Pizza Night! This is any Pizza Hut in Pulaski County, and includes delivery!
The shelter could also use donations of the following: tools; a weed eater, and a vehiclean SUV, pickup or van. This could be a nice tax deduction for someone, and a huge help to the shelter. We could also use occasional help mowing (we have a mower) and weeding the landscaped area.
Remember to USE YOUR KROGER CARDS!! And we have more to sell. Our first month brought in $600; this month we got less than $400, even though we have more cards out there. Remind folksthey dont help if we dont use them!
All day, every day---help is needed walking, bathing, playing with the dogs and cats of HSPC. The more time you spend with them, the more adoptable they become. You dont need to schedule a timeif you have some time available, just come on down. Were open 11-6 every day, and until 8PM Mondays and Fridays.
Adoptions: Link; Audrey; Wizzer; Dusty; Thomas J; Susannah; Jodie Lynne; Montgomery; Hancock
New Volunteers: Kate and Becky Tyrrell; Brian Green; David and Rachel McWhorter; Joseph Scott; Roy Lowe; Jennifer Horner; Kay Pritchett.
And dont forget to check here on our website
www.warmhearts.org - I update the animals every Sunday night. Last night I added Odie, the Great Animals Rescue/Sewer pipe dog. See what a handsome Shepherd he has grown into!
Let me know what you want to help with---
