December 4th and 5thLittle Rock and NLR Holiday Parades. We will have floats this yearthanks to the Humane Ed clubs. We will also need volunteers to walk/ride with our dogs. If you have any good ideas for a theme to decorate the floats/dogs, contact Ann at
celticcanine@comcast.net. (There is a $1000 prize for the best non-profit entry!) She would love to have some help.
And if you would like to escort a dog, let me know. This is always a fun day for our dogs, as well as our volunteers. And our entry, even without the floats, is always the hit of the parade. So this year, well really wow them!! Little Rocks is Saturday, NLR Sunday. For Saturday so far we have: MarLynn, BJ, Martha and Larry, Vicki Lewis and daughter, Shannon Steele, Sara and Holly; Teresa T, Jan and Gary; Sunday we have Teresa T. and Mary.
If you want to walk or ride with a dog in either parade, let me know.
December 5 is also Share Fest at St James United Methodist Church, 8-1. Sort of like what we did at HarvestFest in Hillcrest/Pulaski Heights: t-shirts, puppies, etc. Megan has offered to do this, but we really need more.
Sunday December 12-- Our Humane Ed clubs are hosting a Holiday Party at the shelter, 2-4PM. They will have info on their clubs, and will be presenting the gifts and donations their clubs have raised. It will also be a chance for the clubs from different schools to get together. There will be refreshments, and kittens and puppies to play with. The public is invited, and holiday gifts for our animals will be appreciated. (And we could probably use a little help)
Kroger Cards - Please remember to use your Kroger Gift Cards when doing your holiday grocery shopping. (You can use them in the pharmacy, too). It is a good way to help HSPC with no extra cost to you!
If you havent heard about Kroger Gift Cards, let me know, and I will explain it.
All day, every day---help is needed walking, bathing, playing with the dogs and cats of HSPC. The more time you spend with them, the more adoptable they become. You dont need to schedule a timeif you have some time available, just come on down. Were open 11-6 every day, and until 8PM Mondays and Fridays. Some new volunteers have been spending a lot of time with them, and they really appreciate it!

A good way to help animals: This is pretty simple. Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know -

And remember to check here on our website -
www.warmhearts.org -
I add new dogs and cats every Sunday night.
For the Warm Hearts and Cold Noses...
