NEWS AND EVENTS
HSPC Week 10/25/04
Reigning Cats and Dogs was a big success. We dont have final numbers yet, but we took in over $54,000.00
Thanks to everyone who helped. Debbie and Laurel did a great job pulling it all together, and we had a great group of volunteers. It was great to see so many of our volunteers and supporters. I missed Joyce and Kent when I thanked everyone last weekthey were a big help, too, and we appreciated it.
Saturday, October 30-- Whiskers at the MallIf you can help, contact Chris at
ellischris@uams.edu
Dayplanner/Calendar - Our 2005 Dayplanner/Calendars will be on sale October 23; we are having a little delay getting them all. We had some at Reigning, but I think we came close to selling out. We should have some at the shelter, etc, shortly. These are great, useful planners, with wonderful photos of our supporters companion animals, and original artwork by local artist Bob Crane. They will be available at: HSPC; Whiskers; Wordsworth Books; Premium Pet; Faux Pas; Twin City Bank-Heights and Riverdale; Tack Room; Caracalla Salon; Winterberry; OneBanc-Financial Center, and at Catering to your Cravings in NLR.
These beautiful books will make thoughtful holiday gifts, and will help HSPC. The price is $20.
Our 10/24 birthday party has been cancelled, but we have parties scheduled for 11/7, 11/14 and 11/21. Think about helping with theseperhaps even running one, so I can have a Sunday off!
Hillcrest Harvest Fest - October 30 is Harvest in HIllcrest / the Heights. Each year we have a table with t-shirts, and handouts, and we take a few adoptables. It is usually fun, and the dogs love the outing. We could use a morning shift and an afternoon shift. Our usual spot is on Kavanaugh near Delta Trust, but hasnt been confirmed for this year yet. Let me know if you want to help with this. So far, I have Ann and Julie helping, but really need several more. And, as in the past, they havent told us where our space is yet; I will try to go over there and find out, and will let everyone know.
Puppy Love - If you are interested in Puppy Love, contact Patty at
Pjorwall@swbell.net
If you are interested in Humane Ed or helping with the collection boxes, contact Ann at:
celticcanine@comcast.net
Holiday Pet Photos - November 19 and 20th we will be doing Holiday Pet Photos at Whiskers at the Mall. Bedford Camera is helping us this year. We will need some extra help.
Kroger Cards - Remember to USE YOUR KROGER GIFT CARDS!! They dont help if we dont use them! And we get 5% of all purchase if you do use them. We have sold more cards, but are getting less money. Are you remembering to reload and use them?
All day, every day---help is needed walking, bathing, playing with the dogs and cats of HSPC. The more time you spend with them, the more adoptable they become. You dont need to schedule a timeif you have some time available, just come on down. Were open 11-6 every day, and until 8PM Mondays and Fridays.
Adoptions: Ginger; Stephanie; Daisy Mae; Jeffrey; Joey; Darwin; Mittens; Dirty Girl(we didnt give her that name!)
