Our dog wash at Trinity made $1000. Thanks to Gene, Billye, Kathy Stephens, Caroline, Kimber, Wanda , Margie, and of course John..

Saturday July 9-- Whiskers at the MAll. If you want to help at our mall store, contact Chris at ellischris@uams.edu

Thanks to so many of you who responded to the plea for help. We really appreciate it. We are in one of our financial crunches right now--donations are down, and so many sick and injured animals coming to us. It would help so much if you would get the word out. So many people are willing to help animals in need, if they know about it. I'm going to leave last weeks's message in here:

We need your help - Folks, I really hate to be asking, so many of you have helped so many times when we were in need...perhaps you could forward this to friends who love animals, or put it on the bulletin board at work...every little bit helps. We have just had a really rough spring, with so many sick and injured animals, in addition to the "rescue pups". This message is from Kay:

I really hate to ask for help from the good people out there... but we do need help. We have had an extreme amount of medical emergencies lately, here are some of them: 5 JRT mixes...all with extreme mange and heartworm positive...cured and ready for adoption; 4 Pomeranians left in a back yard pen, owner moved away and left them to die..all heartworm positive..now cured and in new homes.. A small female Akita with a massive tumor hanging from her abdomen and more tumors inside.. now in our care healing... 0 stitches and a new life ahead; a kitten with it's tail bone broken crawled into a strangers yard...healing after going to the veterinarian, a puppy tossed out on the road with a broken leg; a wonderful husky mix with a broken jaw, unable to eat... now healing...and now we have this little kitten...found in the woods with the string from a rug tangled around it's back leg...the leg and foot swollen to 5 times it's normal size...amputated...we need help with the vet. bills....please...we can't turn our back on these creatures needing us...without us where will they go? Please if you can help with the vet. bills... we need help now.

Pizza Hut is again going to help HSPC. From July 4 to Sept 26, we will get 20% of sales on Monday nights from 5-9. However, this year, a voucher needs to be turned in when the pizza is ordered ( or picked up). You can download them from our website , or pick up some at the shelter, the Mall store, or a dog wash. Or I can email you some to print out. A reminder --if you have an HSPC Kroger Gift card, don't forget to use it! And we have some more, if you know anyone who wants one.

Puppy Love---We still need more volunteers for Puppy Love. Christina would like to schedule more visits. This is something you can do with your kids! You can contact Christina for more information at: ramseyresources@aol.com Her phone # is 766-6662.

We are still looking for some short-term fosters for some of our animals that would benefit from time away from the shelter (who wouldnt). Some time spent in a loving home might increase confidence and social skills, and make them more adoptable. If you are interested, or have any questions, let me know.

Adoptions: Layla (5 plus year resident!) Sylvester, Bunny Lou, and lots of kittens and puppies

New Volunteers: Kathy Stephens

Next volunteer orientation: July 11, 6:30 PM at the shelter

Upcoming Events:
July 23-Dog Wash at Kroger

And remember to check here on our website - www.warmhearts.org. I add new dogs and cats every Sunday night. Okay, I didn't do it this week or last; I was in California, and didn't take any pictures!
