Did you adopt a shelter pet? - If you, or anyone you know, has adopted a shelter animal...we are looking for alumni pictures. We want to make a giant poster of alumni for our 60th anniversary early this spring.
REIGNING CATS AND DOGS is Saturday October 22. Over 400 great auction items, food, drinks, live music, cats and dogs...tickets $40 if purchased before the event, $45 at the door.
Volunteers, please think about selling tickets, and/or purchasing one and coming out to join the fun. They are available at the shelter, at Whiskers at the Mall, at River Market Art Space, the Bead Shop in Argenta, and through me. And of course, they will be available at the door. We'd love to see you there!
Dayplanner Preview Party - This Thursday, 10/16, is the preview party for the dayplanner. This is a private reception for the folks who sponsored and/or bought pages in the 2006 daylpanner. It is a chance for them to pick up their books, and buy extras. I will be at the table distributing the books, and could use one or two more helpers. Jan, Toby, Wrenne, and Laurie are helping.
If we have a few more volunteers to help, the more chance we will have to also enjoy the food, live music, and good company. (We can work shifts). This event is at a lovely private home on Edgewood Drive,(in the Heights) and is from 6-9. If you would be interested in helping with this, let me know today.

October 21--Third Annual AYPN Golf Tournament. Go to www.aypn.org and click on Paws for the Cause for more information and application form. We need volunteers for this! If interested, contact Richard Morgan at casperbryantmimi@yahoo.com
November 11--Second Friday Art Night in Little Rock. Rivermarket ArtSpace is dedicating a percentage of sales this night to HSPC. We can have dogs and cats there, and hand out information. Plus have a good time!Second Friday Art Night is a lot of fun--free trolley rides from gallery to gallery; food, wine, art...and this time, cats and dogs! ArtSpace owner Debra Wood is an HSPC supporter, and recently adopted a darling kitty from us You can check her website at:www.rivermarketartspace.com - click on "gallery news." We will be needing a few Dog escorts
Also, volunteers, think about helping with adoptions. More animals get adopted if the potential adopters get personal attention. Helping with adoptions is my favorite thing to do, but I am not there all the time. If you like seeing our dogs and cats going to wonderful homes, and would like to help with adoptions, let me know, and I will be happy to get you started. Stephanie has started doing this, and she has had geat success. People love the personal attention, and even if they don't find the perfect dog or cat, they leave thinking very well of HSPC!
Kroger Gift Cards - A reminder --if you have an HSPC Kroger Gift card, don't forget to use it! And we have some more, if you know anyone who wants one. We earned $479 from August use of Kroger cards.
Puppy Love---We still need more volunteers for Puppy Love. Christina would like to schedule more visits. You can contact Christina for more information at: ramseyresources@aol.com Her phone # is 766-6662. Christina has a lot of peple on her list, but is having a hard time getting teams together for visits. This is something you can do with your kids!
