NEWS AND EVENTS

HSPC Week 11/28

Im looking for a home for a Great Pyrenees, older, male. This is not an HSPC dog, and I dont usually do this, but last time we had one, so many people wanted it, I had people (especially goat farmers!) begging for it.. If you know anyone interested, let me know.

Saturday 12/3 and Sunday 12/4Pet Photos with Santa at Bath Junkie at Bowman Curve. Five nice pictures of your pet/kids with Santa for a $15 donation to HSPC. Please spread the word, and also consider coming over to help. Larry and Chris will take turns being Santa, and Bedford Camera is handling the photography. Volunteer Stephanie Pierson generously donated space in her new shop for this event.

Saturday 12/3--Downtown Holiday Parade. Need dog escorts. Katy and John, Shannon and Sarah, Trisha, Jana Marie, Caroline A, Lara and Michael, and a few others have signed up, including a group from Civitans... Deb Currie has offered to be our Scooby, and we still could use help decorating our vehicle. I will send info on the parade separately, but basically you need to pick up your dog at the shelter and at least some of us have to be at registration by 2PM. I will have maps and guidelines at the shelter. This is always a fun outing for our dogs. Could anyone make them matching festive kerchiefs? Maybe 15?

Don't forget our 2006 Day Planners. They are on sale at a store near you, the shelter, and by mail. Check the link to our website. Or go to www.warmhearts.org, and click on the headline about Day Planners, for a list of outlets, and a mail order form. They really do make great holiday gifts.

Want to do something nice for the shelter dogs? Donate a Kuranda bed. Heres how: go to www.kuranda.com and click on donate a bed. Select our state and then select HSPC. Choose the size bed you want to donate. The choices are: Large, $54 (The large ones are big enough for any of our dogs) We could also use some smaller ones. HSPC will be notified of your donation, and the bed will be shipped directly to HSPC. These are indestructible, raised beds, which will keep our dogs off the cold concrete floors, and also help them to have a clean place to sleep (or lounge). If you have a particular dog you want to donate a bed for, let me know, and I will see that he/she gets it. Bing, Camille, Lily, LittleFeet, Brent, Sammie, Sandra and a few others already have their beds, and are enjoying them. So far, 21 have been donated!
