Our Dog Wash Saturday made $620; That makes $10,379 so far for the season. Thanks to Gene, Billye, Mary, Melanie; Janelle and Joanne; Jamie and Dan. Extra thanks to Mary, who was heroic...helped us set up, and stayed and helped us take down, and load the car! And washed a bunch of dogs in between! We still have one more, at Whole Foods this Saturday.

Saturday,9/27: Adoption Event at Whole Foods, and Dog Wash.!!11-2; The adoption committe will be bringing adoptables, and any volunteer who is interested is welcome to do so,--- let me know. And let me know which dogs you want to bring.

Also Saturday is Harvest Fest in Hillcrest. We promised to bring some adoptables there as well. Let me know who is going, and who you might want to take.. They should have a table and chairs for us...it would be great if we had one of our banners there. I have emailed the coordinator to ask exactly where our spot is, and will let you know as soon as I hear. And I will give you brochures to hand out, flyers for the Walk to take, etc.

Sunday the 28th...birthday party at the shelter, 1:30. I will need some help.

Susann is coordinating classes for anyone interested in working directly with our dogs. The classes are led by Cindy and Phyllis. If you are interested, contact Susann at gotsusann@gmail.com.

Dog Walker Orientation is a one day, two hour class that will teach you the do's and don'ts of shelter dog walking..
Dog Training Classes are four-week courses (2 hours per class for each of 4 consecutive Saturdays) that teach our dogs the basics of canine "good citizenship", make them more adoptable, and the dogs and trainers have a lot of fun and learn a new skill. So contact Susann for either of these.
Or just let Susann know if you would like to meet her there to get started volunteering. She will be happy to show you how, and introduce you to our "regulars"... a great group of people who welcome help in getting the dogs out to play and exercise!
And there is a blue binder on the front counter to write notes on the dogs you work with...to pass on to other volunteers and potential adopters .

**Laura is plannng similar training for people interested in knowing more about working with our cats. Those classes will be on alternate Monday nights at 6. Contact Laura to sign up for the first class, at laurajade76@yahoo.com
