Warm Hearts for Cold Noses

News Archives: Cats from Flooded LA Shelter: 2008-09-05

Please Note: Information in this archived article may no longer be accurate.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County is taking in approximately 40 cats from a shelter in Louisiana that was flooded out during the recent/current storms. They will be arriving tonight (Friday 9/5).

It isn't clear when that shelter will be rebuilt, so they are turning the cats over to us. They are supposed to be already sterilized and current on shots.

We are in need of litter boxes, kitty litter, food bowls, bedding and cat toys. We will also need help this evening unloading them and getting them settled in their new quarters. However, we don't know yet what time they will be arriving, but it will be after 6pm.

If you would like to help with this, either stop by the shelter after 6, or call me. I won't be there, but should have updates on arrival time/needs. You can try calling the shelter, but I suspect they will be busy and it may be hard to get through. My cell is 501-580-2966.
