Dog Wash 6/7. We will need lots of help. Trinity United Methodist Church, Evergreen and
Mississippi. We will start setting up at 8:30
** We are doing offsite adoptions at Murray Park , by the Dog Park, on second and fourth
weekends. See info below, and contact Laura if you can help. This is a good chance to show
adoptable dogs in foster care, too. We have done these for two weeks now, and have made
lots of friends, and acquainted lots of dog-lovers with our shelter..
Offsite Adoption Event at Murray Dogpark June 14,
Shift 1 - 10-12
- need volunteers to participate in featuring adoptable dogs/pups; willing to pick up from
shelter and transport 1-2 dogs each to Murray dogpark
Shift 2: 12-1

Dogs should be bathed before going to events. You can take them in the back door
(by the clinic entrance) and bathe them in the grooming room.Please let Laura and me know by
Wednesday if you plan to go, and if you know which dog you want to take, or if you want Kay
to pick one for you. Kay wants to know by Wednesday. Laura will be there for both shifts.

**Puppy Love , if you are interested in helping with this great program, contact Leah at
leahcapel@sbcglobal .net for more info. This is the schedule for the next several months:
1st Saturday: Briarwood 10:30 a.m.
2nd Saturday: Parkway 10:00a.m.
3rd Saturday: Presbyterian Village 10;00 a.m.
4th Saturday: Parkview 10:30 a.m.
Meet at the shelter a half hour before, to get your puppy ready.
Volunteers remember, please, to pick up poop in the Dog Park when you have dogs out. And no
more than three dogs per volunteer.
**If you would like to learn a new skill and help our dogs get adopted, sign up for our
Dog Training Classes, by contacting Phyllis at Phyllisnewt@ hotmail.com These four-week
courses teach our dogs the basics of canine "good citizenship", make them ore adoptable,
and the dogs and trainers have a lot of fun.A new series of classes will start this coming
Saturday, June 7, at 10AM; contact Phyllis if you would like to be part of it!
** For those of us who don't get to see our dogs on Channel 4 on Thursdays at 5:45 AM,
you can now go to our website, click on "Our TV Stars at Ch 4" (under News) and see a video
clip of the spot.
**We have some really nice HSPC merchandise available, some just for volunteers, some for
everybody. Go to our our website, click on New Merchandise and check it all out. Shirts,
totes, bibs, license plate frames, dog outfits, hats.. some with our logo, some with
beautiful designs by Little Rock Artist Les Waite. AND FOR VOLUNTEER GEAR,

Remember to use your Kroger Card! They don't help us if you don't use them! If you don't
have one, we just got more at the shelter. If you don't know how they work, let me know and
I will explain this painless way to make money for the shelter.
**Dr Medlock, our staff vet, has put a green binder up front, for volunteers to write down
any illness or problems that they might observe. She promises to look at it first thing when
she comes in.
**Christine is again going to do our Critter Camps. These are the dates, if you know any
children over 8 that would enjoy it, or if you would like to help:
Dates:June 6, June 20, July 11, and August 1 (11am-3 pm all days)
**Adoptions: Andy; Marilyn; Paxton; Shelly; Buckaroo; Pug # 5; Trudi; lots of kittens and
puppies.
