**Dog Wash Saturday at Trinity, 9-2; we will need help! Please let me know which shift you want to
do. This is an event where your kids can help!! John and I will be there at 8:15 to set up. This
is the first of the season, and should get a big crowd!
**Craws for Paws was a huge success. I think there were at least twice as many people as they
thought would come. There were probably close to 1000 people there. We had 23 volunteers and 22
dogs, and I think all had a good time! I don't have the finances yet, will let you know when I do.
We did get some adoptions, too.

1st Saturday: Briarwood 10:30 a.m.
2nd Saturday: Parkway 10:00a.m.
3rd Saturday: Presbyterian Village 10;00 a.m.
4th Saturday: Parkview 10:30 a.m.
Meet at the shelter a half hour before, to get your puppy ready.
We are going to take part in the Adoptathon, a national program arranged by the North
Animal League to help get a lot of animals adopted. May 3rd and 4th. . Everyone is welcome
to help

**If you would like to learn a new skill and help our dogs get adopted, sign up for our
Dog Training Classes, by contacting Phyllis at Phyllisnewt@hotmail.com These four-week courses
teach our dogs the basics of canine "good citizenship", make them ore adoptable, and the dogs
and trainers have a lot of fun.A new series of classes will start May 4; contact Phyllis if you
would like to be part of it!
** For those of us who don't get to see our dogs on Channel 4 on Thursdays at 6:15 AM, you can
now go to our website, click on "Our TV Stars at Ch 4" (under News) and see a video clip of the
spot.
**We have some really nice HSPC merchandise available, some just for volunteers, some for
everybody. Go to our our website, click on New Merchandise and check it all out. Shirts, totes,
bibs, license plate frames, dog outfits, hats.. some with our logo, some with beautiful designs

We are already selling pages, so don't wait too long...last year we had to turn away people, or the
book would be too thick!!
**Dr Medlock, our staff vet, has put a green binder up front, for volunteers to write down any
or problems that they might observe. She promises to look at it first thing when she comes in.
**Super Suppers schedule:
10% to be donated to the Pulaski County Humane Society on these dates. You must mention that
you are purchasing to support the shelter.

**Christine is again going to do our Critter Camps. These are the dates, if you know any children
that would enjoy it, or would like to help:
Dates:June 6, June 20, July 11, and August 1 (11am-3 pm all days)
**June 28---Martial Arts competition at River Market...we get a large percent of the drink sales
we can provide a few volunteers to sell beer and soft drinks. Last year we made over $1800, and this
year promises to be even bigger.It's still a ways off, but consider helping...and if you are a
martial arts fan, you will get to see a good competition.
