**Dog Wash Saturday at Trinity, 9-2; we will need help! Please let me know which shift you want to do. This is an event where your kids can help!! John and I will be there at 8:15 to set up. This is the first of the season, and should get a big crowd!**Craws for Paws was a huge success. I think there were at least twice as many people as they thought would come. There were probably close to 1000 people there. We had 23 volunteers and 22 dogs, and I think all had a good time! I don't have the finances yet, will let you know when I do. We did get some adoptions, too.

2nd Saturday: Parkway 10:00a.m.
3rd Saturday: Presbyterian Village 10;00 a.m.
4th Saturday: Parkview 10:30 a.m.
Meet at the shelter a half hour before, to get your puppy ready.
We are going to take part in the Adoptathon, a national program arranged by the North Animal League to help get a lot of animals adopted. May 3rd and 4th. . Everyone is welcome to help

**If you would like to learn a new skill and help our dogs get adopted, sign up for our Dog Training Classes, by contacting Phyllis at Phyllisnewt@hotmail.com These four-week courses teach our dogs the basics of canine "good citizenship", make them ore adoptable, and the dogs and trainers have a lot of fun.A new series of classes will start May 4; contact Phyllis if you would like to be part of it!
** For those of us who don't get to see our dogs on Channel 4 on Thursdays at 6:15 AM, you can now go to our website, click on "Our TV Stars at Ch 4" (under News) and see a video clip of the spot.
**We have some really nice HSPC merchandise available, some just for volunteers, some for everybody. Go to our our website, click on New Merchandise and check it all out. **Check our website for information on buying a page, or sponsorship, of the 2009 DayPlanner We are already selling pages, so don't wait too long...last year we had to turn away people, or the book would be too thick!!
**Dr Medlock, our staff vet, has put a green binder up front, for volunteers to write down any or problems that they might observe. She promises to look at it first thing when she comes in.

**Christine is again going to do our Critter Camps. These are the dates, if you know any children that would enjoy it, or would like to help: Dates:June 6, June 20, July 11, and August 1 (11am-3 pm all days)
**June 28---Martial Arts competition at River Market...we get a large percent of the drink sales we can provide a few volunteers to sell beer and soft drinks. Last year we made over $1800, and this year promises to be even bigger.It's still a ways off, but consider helping...and if you are a martial arts fan, you will get to see a good competition.
