**March 15 is the St Patrick's Day Parade. Lorrie has offered to coordinate it. She did such a great job with the Christmas parade. If you want to take a dog, and/or help Lorrie, let me know, and I will put you in touch! We did this last year and it was fun, but it will be great to be more organized this year!

**April 18/19 is Earth Day, and the Zoo has again invited us to set up with handouts and adoptables. I know it is a long way off, but it would be great if we could organize something and do it. We haven't done it for the past two years, but it would be nice to participate again. The dogs we take always enjoy an outing.Erica has volunteered, and Leslie and her husband. Tell me which days you can help. We'd love to have at least 8 people on Saturday, and will be happy for as many as we can get on Friday!! We plan to have a book showing all of our adoptables, a poster for Special Friends Sponsorships, and lots of adoptables in person (or "in dog?")

**Our Kroger cards made $599 for January... If you don't have one, please consider getting one; if you have one, please remember to use it..and if you don't know about them, contact me, and I'll explain.

**If you would like to be part of our dog training program..learn to train our shelter dogs to help make them more adoptable... and give them a chance to have fun..contact Phyllis at phyllisnewt@ hotmail.com and she will tell you when the next set of classes will start. This is a wonderfu l program that has helped get so many of our dogs into good homes. Both the dogs and the trainers learn new skills!

**We would like to recognize the current group of trainers and their students,who are doing a great job: Linda/Copper; Pat V/Rudolph; Hollis H/Buttercup; Karen/Zoie; Susann/Ripley;

Tony/Buckaroo; Sandy/Maria; Kyla/Hazelnut; Indigo/Evie; and Debbie/Leo. Thank you for helping make these dogs very adoptable, and giving them a fun morning out every Saturday!

**Folks, when taking dogs to the dog park, please try to follow some basic guidelines: Not too many dogs..no more than 5 per volunteer, and no more than 8 in the big dog parks

Pick up after your dog

Remember to put it back

Make sure the gender mix isn't such that we'll get puppies

Make sure that all dogs have someone watching them at all times

If you don't know the dogs, ask staff if they get along with other, or if they have special friends they like to play with
