VOTE FOR SB 777!!!
Right now there is a marvelous opportunity to finally make real the long-held dream
of toughened Arkansas laws against the most horrific kinds of animal abuse. It is
called Senate Bill 777. Please give your strong support to SB 777 in one or more of
the ways described
HERE
.
In particular, please show your support by attending hearings on SB 777. An important
one already is scheduled by the Senate Judicial Committee for March 14th. For details,
please click
HERE.
SB 777 will make aggravated cruelty against horses, dogs and cats a felony on the first
offense. Why give abusers a second chance to torture, starve or mutilate a defenseless
animal? Why not finally send a message that animal cruelty escalates to children and
adults? No farmers, hunters, cattle farmers, etc., will be affected...and never have
been in prior animal felony bills that have been voted down. Click
HERE to download the complete bill.
and...
VOTE AGAINST SB 794!!!
Please tell your senators and representatives you do NOT want SB 794.
SB 794 is a bill that will not allow HSPC or other rescue groups to save your animals when
in danger of dying unless they first find a deputy. For instance, it will not allow us to
intervene if, if, when you are out of town or away at work, your animal is "hung in a fence"
or is hit by a car and makes it back to your yard. It will change the definition of "animal"
in a way that is extremely bad for the animals that have no voice.
Please, please, please....CALL YOUR SENATORS AND HOUSE REPS...E-MAIL THEM...
TELL THEM YOU CARE ABOUT THE WELFARE OF OUR BELOVED ANIMALS....TELL THEM TO VOTE...
YES FOR SB 777
NO FOR SB 794
All major animal welfare groups are behind this in the state of Arkansas.
The Sheriff's Association is behind SB 777. There is an awesome list of those in support of
SB 777.
