From Senator Adcock (SB 777 co-sponsor):

Subject: SB777
Date: Fri, 23 Mar 2007 16:55:35 -0500

I will be presenting SB777 Monday, March 26th, after House adjournment. There's no way of knowing exactly what time but I'm guessing around 3, 3:30. However, it could be sooner, or later. The Room # is 138. That's on the first floor of the Capitol. Please try to attend. No props (stuffed animals, et), signs are fine but please only wording such as (example)Support SB777.

Thanks to all of you that have support Senator Madison and me. You all are greatly appreciated.

Representative Pam Adcock

From Eva Madison, Humane Society of the Ozarks, Fayetteville:

SB 777 is set for a Special Order of Business in House Agriculture Monday in Room 138 (North end of Capitol, ground level). This means the bill WILL BE HEARD Monday. The Committee is set to meet 15 minutes after the House adjourns. The House convenes at 1:00 p.m., so it is possible the Committee meeting will start anywhere from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., so please come as soon as you can (but you might bring a book to read/cards to play if we have to wait around).

The Chairman of House Agriculture, Rep. Tommy Dickinson, is being very gracious in giving us this Special Order, and I believe we will be given a fair opportunity to present the bill. I also believe we have a fighting chance, but that it will be a very difficult fight. That said, we must make a GREAT SHOWING Monday. Bring your friends, bring your family members, bring your co-workers. We need to show the Committee that we are everyday Arkansans with everyday interests, just like farmers. I know some of you may be frustrated with where we are in the process, but SB 777 still needs your support, and we owe it to our sponsors to support it until the very end.

Please DO NOT contact members of House Agriculture unless they are YOUR Representative. We have received some complaints about non-constituent emails, and we do not want that to hurt the bill.

Remember my earlier request: Please bring your buttons and signs, but there has been a request to leave any other "props" (like stuffed animals) at home (sorry). We must be VERY composed in House Agriculture, more so even than we were in Senate Judiciary. We cannot have any laughing, giggling, commentary, hand gestures, or anything of the sort. I know all of you are very responsible, so this is just a friendly reminder. House Agriculture is a very different committee from Senate Judiciary, and we don't want to do anything that might jeopardize SB 777's chances.

See you Monday.
